Sync Google Calendar With Windows 7 Desktop After some great overall improvement, Microsoft made one stupid(I hate to say this but it is true) decision – removing Windows Calendar from Windows 7. Thus, stealing away the ability for users to sync their Google or Windows Live Calendar with their desktop. Luckily, I came across a Windows  Gadget  called  Windows Live Calendar Gadget  developed for Windows 7 by user poulicek. It allows user to sync both Windows Live Calendar and Google Calendar(yes, it supports syncing of multiple calendars). Technically it supports any calendar in iCal format. Now first head over to Google Calendar, hit Settings, and visit Calendars tab. Here, click the calendar that you want to sync. You will find a Private Address section at the bottom of the page. Girl Scout hacks mobile app A 10-year-old hacker took the stage at the recent DefCon computer security conference in Las Vegas to tell crowds about the vulnerability she discovered in mobile gaming applications, CNET reports. The hacker, a girl scout who goes by the handle CyFi, fiddled with her mobile device’s clock after she grew impatient with farm-style games that made her wait for her crops to grow, according to the news source. Although this sort of hack is well-known and most programs guard against it, CyFi discovered effective work-arounds, including disconnecting her phone from its wireless connection and turning the clock ahead incrementally. CyFi termed her hack “Time Traveler,” and in her presentation brief wrote that app developers could learn something about security from a girl scout, PC World reports. Open a command prompt, and run the following command: On Windows: tracert -d 8.8.8.8 On Mac OS X: /usr/sbin/traceroute -n -w 2 -q 2 -m 30 8.8.8.8 On Linux: sudo traceroute -n -w 2 -q 2 -m 30 8.8.8.8 If the last line of the output does not list 8.8.8.8 as the final hop, or if there are significant timeouts, there may be a network problem preventing you from contacting our servers. Changing DNS server settings on Microsoft Windows 7 DNS settings are specified in the  TCP/IP Properties  window for the selected network connection.  Go the  Control Panel . Click  Network and Internet , then  Network and Sharing Center , and click  Change adapter settings . Select the connection for which you want to configure Google Public DNS. For example: To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click  Local Area Connection , and click  Properties . To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click  Wireless Network Connection , and click  Properties .
